I sharpen and collect knives by +20 years. Nothing takes such an accurate apex, like 15V BBB, low chrome with 15% vanadium, give super accuracy and high edge retention (my priority is accuracy). 15V can easily split hairs, I done it many times, incredible stropping behaviour. I don't like liner locks so upgrade to compression is wellcome, still I consider it LIGHT DUTY (Heavy duty is triad by Cold Steel). Also finally the military 2 can have 4 positions clip, I like tip up (not tip down from factory or military 1). So the military 2 is superior in everything to old military 1. This 15V BBB version has the best blade but I like also the Cru-wear and micarta version. Luckily this time Spyderco chose G10 over ugly FRN, for the high price G10 is minimum. Very pricy but the knife is awesome and has one of the best steel available, professionally heat treated to about 65HRCs.
